"
My husband and I booked a private tour with Daily Pyramids Tours. Everything was exactly as promised! The price was fair, the organisation was excellent and the entire experience was smooth and stress-free. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about the history and culture — always happy to answer our questions. What stood out most was his honesty and professionalism; we never felt pressured into anything.

Tour FAQs

A Dahabiya Nile Cruise is a traditional, elegantly crafted wooden sailboat designed for slow, intimate journeys along the Nile. Unlike large cruise ships, a Dahabiya usually carries 10–20 guests, offering a boutique-style atmosphere with personalized service, peaceful sailing, and access to small islands and remote villages that big ships cannot reach. It provides a unique blend of luxury, privacy, and authenticity, allowing travelers to experience the Nile the way explorers did centuries ago—but with modern comfort, gourmet meals, and attentive hospitality.

Most Dahabiya itineraries last between 4 and 7 nights, depending on the route.

  • The classic journey between Luxor and Aswan is usually 5–7 nights.
  • Shorter options of 3–4 nights may be available for travelers with limited time.

The slow pace is part of the charm—Dahabiyas do not rush. They stop at lesser-known temples, quiet riverbanks, and untouched countryside locations, offering a deeper and more relaxed Nile experience.

Yes, a Dahabiya cruise is an excellent choice for families, especially those seeking a quieter, safer, and more personal travel experience.

  • The small size of the boat allows children to explore safely.
  • Families enjoy a private, home-like environment without crowds.
  • Crew members often interact warmly with kids.
  • It’s ideal for families who want cultural immersion, nature, and meaningful bonding time.

However, families with very young children (under 4 years old) may find the open deck and quiet environment challenging to manage, so it depends on comfort level and supervision.

The best time to take a Dahabiya Nile Cruise is from October to April.

During these months, temperatures are mild, perfect for slow sailing, outdoor sightseeing, village walks, and deck relaxation.

  • October–November: Warm and comfortable, great for photography.
  • December–February: Cool and pleasant, the most popular season.
  • March–April: Sunny with ideal weather for excursions.

Summer (May–September) is hot, but some travelers still enjoy Dahabiyas thanks to shaded decks, breezy sailing, and onboard cooling systems.

Cabins on a Dahabiya are cozy, stylish, and designed to offer comfort in a traditional setting.

  • Expect private bathrooms, air-conditioning, and elegant wooden décor.
  • Many cabins feature large windows with Nile views.
  • Suites may include balconies or private seating areas.
  • The overall design blends old-world charm with modern luxury—think soft bedding, warm lighting, and handcrafted details.

Cabins are not as large as those on big cruise ships, but they feel warm, intimate, and perfectly suited to the relaxed style of Dahabiya sailing.
